Hi, my name is

Yongkytown

and here is why you should consider me for Esplanade’s All Things New 2027!

Who I Am

A songwriter for the quiet hours.

Yongkytown captures the moments we can’t stop replaying: the almosts and could-have-beens, the endings that came too soon. Raw, reflective lyricism meets dreamy, immersive soundscapes, in music made for late-night drives, solo walks and every unspoken goodbye.

A Singaporean indie-pop singer-songwriter, Yongkytown’s music is a safe space for the feelings that linger long after the moment has passed. He has performed at the Esplanade Concourse and Singapore Night Festival, and headlined Music Within Our Midst, his original music show at the Stamford Arts Centre.

Come find the place where your story finally sounds like a song.

performances at Esplanade

You might!

I’ve had the privilege to perform for Esplanade in the past, appearing in the In Youthful Company and Songs We Grew Up With programming.

As a young boy who first stepped onto the Esplanade stage with TKchoir in 2010, it was pretty much a dream come true to have my own stage.

And now, I’m hoping 2027 could be the year that I return :)

Why now?

New songs arrive in 2027.

Two new indie-pop songs are on the way: Falling for a Friend in January and Code I’ll Never Crack in April.

Both are being released in collaboration with Cross Ratio Entertainment, and I’d love for Esplanade audiences to hear them live.

Concepts we can explore

I explain the song, then I perform it

For the Songs We Grew Up With programming, the audience scanned a QR code to read the lyrics while I walked them through the intentional choices behind a song and its lyrics.

Then I performed it. In this clip, “So Sick” by Ne-Yo, I point out how the chorus leans on an “s” sound, and how the last line drops it on purpose.

I aim for every show to be audience-centric, so you can expect an engaging and entertaining Yongkytown show.
